

U.S. Ambassador Launches “Indonesian FUNtastic Squad,”
TVRI’s New English-Language Quiz Show
January 3, 2008 (Jakarta) -- U.S. Ambassador Cameron Hume helped launch a
new TV quiz show Indonesian FUNtastic Squad, at the Hard Rock Café. The show
features talented Indonesian public high school students from four different
regions who are competing to win educational trips to the United States. It

U.S. Embassy Hosts 2008 U.S. Elections Program
December 28,
2007 (Jakarta) – The U.S. Embassy hosted Indonesian university students, NGOs,
and think tank representatives for a discussion on the upcoming U.S.
Presidential Elections. Officers from the U.S. Embassy briefed the group on the
American electoral process, including the Electoral College, caucuses,
primaries, and party conventions. The general election for the next U.S.
president.
U.S. Naval Cruiser USS Port Royal Visits Jakarta
December 26, 2007
(Jakarta) -- U.S. Navy cruiser U.S.S. Port Royal made a four-day visit (Dec.
17-Dec. 20) to Jakarta’s Tanjung Priok. It was the first ever visit to Jakarta
by a U.S. navy cruiser. While in port, the ship’s crew members had the
opportunity to meet local citizens, and experience Indonesian customs and
traditions. On the first day of the visit, the crewmembers were welcomed with
flowers and fruit, traditional dancers, fire-breathers, and other performers.
